What is a sense of place?

The Scottish Sculpture Workshop has appointed two individuals to look at a "sense of place" from two distinct perspectives. Simon Beeson [architect and educator] will explore issues of play as a creative methology to reveal a sense of place within specific communities in the North east of Scotland.

Wendy Gunn [fine artist and researcher] is interested in revealing approaches to the built environment that emerge out of skills, traditions and values of making soecific to particular cultures.

They will research and consult with a wide range of disciplines, and develop case studies inselected locations around Aberdennshire.

Seminars and publications will result.
