Rebuilding Scotland

The Television Trust for Scotland's video REBUILDING SCOTLAND features Mark Walker who draws on his Cedar House project to highlight the restrictions on the design of new houses proposed to replacing derelict cottages.

The Trust worked in partnership with local TV station Channel Six Dundee and ICT Centre Upper Tay Comm.Comm to provide opportunities for urban and rural populations to see the video and to discuss priorities and changes of attitude towards the approval of new buildings. Opportunities will be provided to discuss the planning emphasis in person and via the Heartlander web site.

We suggest this project will increase public awareness of the principals and qualities required of good design in domestic buildings and promote environmentally sensitivity and aesthetic innovation as an alternative to more traditional or off-the shelf alternatives currently favoured in regulations.
