Public realms and Understanding in Small Burghs
100 Burghs Trust

The project will promote public awareness and debate about new design and the public realm via a case study of St Andrews. A survey of the historical evolution of town in relationship to gown will set the context. The study will explore the relationships of the university and the town and provide indicative designs for new buildings, public and private spaces and the pathways linking them. There will be a public exhibition and related workshop, publicity in the local and university press and a subsequent opportunity for the public to make written comments.
